Beach Soccer History
Beach soccer/ Beach football is also known as beasal is a special from of football which is played on beach. In history book beach football can be found first in Brazil during 1940s. It got first recognition world wide during the year 1992 when format structure and rules of the game was defined.
Beach Soccer Rules
Beach soccer played on a level sandy area field in rectangular shape. Length of the field varies between 35–37 metres and width are between 26–28 metres. The goal posts are being 2.2 metres (7 ft 3 in) X 5.5 metres (18 ft) in dimension. Each team consists of five players out of which one is goal keeper and 4 are on field players. Unlimited number of substitutions are allowed in Beach soccer.
Each beach soccer matches are of 36 minutes and is split up into three 12-minute periods. There is one extra referee in beach football whose responsibility is to track the time and stop the clock in case of any stoppage.
AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup 2025 Schedule and Teams
The 11th edition of AFC Beach Soccer Asian will be played between to 16 teams in ASIA at the Jomtien Beach in Pattaya between 20 March 2025 to 30 March 2025. Teams which are participating in this event are Thailand, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, China PR, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Iraq, Vietnam. Top three teams qualified for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup championship started on 2006 initially it was named as AFC Beach Soccer Championship but 2021 it has been renamed as AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup championship.
First four editions of the championship occurred every year 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 after 2009 it was decided to schedule it every alternate year. So far IRAN and JAPAN are the two most successful teams of this championship they both have won the cup 3 times each apart from that United Arab Emirates won 2 times and Bahrain and Oman both won one time each.
India's Participation in AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup 2025
India will participate in AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup after 18 years, Indian beach Soccer team last participated in the tournament on 2007 Asian Beach Soccer Championship in the UAE. Indian beach soccer team’s last action in any international event was on Asian Beach Games 2008 at Indonesia.
Indian team is going to setup a camp for AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup 2025 Scheduled on February 5, 2025 in Porbandar, Gujarat. A squad of 25 probable members have already been declared by All Indian football federation.

Indian Group
In the first round of the championship India have to face three opponent host Thailand, Kuwait and Lebanon. On 20 March 2025 India will face host Thailand, India vs Kuwait scheduled on 22 March 2025 and in last match of first round India will face Lebanon on 24 March 2025.
If you are an Indian fan, it could be a fantastic opportunity to see your team participating in a big international event after a long break. Although looking into the current stat we should not keep very high hopes from Indian.
